Magdalena Nowak
Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk at the department of Industrial Design, majoring in Naval Architecture, and the Gdansk University of Technology at the department of Architecture and Urban Planning. In 2015, she was a scholarship recipient at the Escola Superior de Artes e Design in Portugal. Since 2019, she has been a member of the Industrial Designers Association. Her research focuses on maritime and design education, as well as exploring the potential of design in the shipbuilding industry. She is also dedicated to developing methodologies for documenting design processes and integrating designers' skills into this demanding industry. In 2024, she completed research in the field and received her PhD from the Faculty of Design at her alma mater, where she currently works as an assistant professor at the Social Design Studio. She considers the shaping of an aware and responsible society as the primary obligation of present day designers. Her work aims to spark social change and influence the mood and condition of the world around us through design. Professionally, she is also involved in product and ship design. Since 2023, she has been collaborating with the design office StoGda Ship Design & Engineering.
