Hanna Obracht-Prondzyńska

Hanna Obracht-Prondzyńska has background in architecture and combines urban design, data analysis and art. She specializes in big data-oriented research and design. She is an assistant professor working at the University of Gdańsk in the Department of Spatial Studies, principal investigator of a research grant on climate responsive urban transformation of cities. In her work she focuses on developing tools using artificial intelligence, supporting participation and urban processes. She defended her PhD in the discipline of architecture and urban planning with distinction at the Faculty of Architecture of the Gdańsk University of Technology. In her PhD, she used her professional experience in regional and urban planning and data analysis, developing a tool assessing an impact of metropolisation processes on the development of small towns. For her work, she has received 7 awards, including two ministerial and from the Polish Academy of Sciences. In 2022, she was awarded by Minister of Science with a scholarship for outstanding young scientists. She has international academic and design experience from China, South Africa, the USA, Colombia, Romania, the Netherlands, Germany. Member of the international association for city and regional planners ISOCARP. Co-creator of 9 Hills Festival.
