About:
Can a 3D printer become an extension of a craftsperson's hand? What qualities must an object possess to be considered a piece of craftsmanship? These are the very questions that open the window exhibition titled The Third Dimension of Craftsmanship, showcasing ceramic works by Maria Bąk, created using 3D printing technology.
As human beings, we have a unique ability: we can create objects that speak. Objects that carry memory, emotion, and intention.
The exhibition The Third Dimension of Craftsmanship explores contemporary craft as a phenomenon that merges embodied knowledge, digital technology, and artistic sensitivity. 3D printing does not replace the craftsperson’s hands – it becomes their extension. It is a tool that – like a chisel, a needle, or a potter’s wheel – requires attentiveness, experimentation, and experience.
Each object presented in the exhibition is a record of dialogue: human–material–machine. This is not an easy or obvious conversation – it’s a continuous search for a common language between the physical and the digital. Between the creator’s intuition and the algorithm’s precision.
In this relationship, the craftsperson does not lose control – on the contrary, they regain it in a new way: by experimenting, listening to the material, and consciously using technology to tell their own story.
We invite you to an exhibition that contributes to a broader conversation about the future of craftsmanship. Together with the artist, who lives and works permanently in Denmark, we will try to answer questions such as: How can new technologies serve individual expression? Does technology distance us from or bring us closer to the essence of creation? Where is the line between a craftsperson and a designer?
The exhibition is organized by the Bochinski Foundation.
