About:

Games have been with humans forever, older than the invention of writing, and are currently experiencing a renaissance. During the Covid-19 pandemic, they allowed people to spend time with loved ones and maintain, either in person or virtually, social relationships. Games satisfy the need to build relationships, provide relaxation, and are associated with fun, which is necessary not only in childhood. And in the realm of design? Here, the designer invites us to play or have fun with the created object.

The Bridge Coffee Set (1960s) is the response of designers from the Chodzież Porcelain and Porcelainite Factory to the popularity of bridge at the time. Today, it once again invites us to the table.

The Bauhaus Memory 100 set (2019), designed by Marek Cecuła, was created to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus. As described: It is an unlimited interactive play with a product that expands the boundaries of its usability and its position in the home space.

The Chess set (2014), designed by Andrzej Klisz for the Być Razem Foundation, also calls to play. This globally known strategic game has gained an interesting, modern form in this design.

The Model Mom tablecloth (2012), designed by Magdalena Jurek, encourages activity and co-creation. By illuminating the embroidery, we discover the world of design history, full of iconic objects.

The glasses (1994), designed by Wiesław Krysiak, with their graceful form and a variety of textures and colors, are the stars of any gathering.

By playing with design, we stimulate imagination and transform reality. Design is a tool in our play. How we use it depends solely on us.

The exhibition is organized by the Bochinski Foundation.
