About:

The Faculty of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk has been shaping the development of design on the Baltic Coast for years. The exhibition Impact / Oddziaływanie 25 showcases projects by designers from the Department of Product Design, highlighting how their decisions influence our surroundings and everyday life.

As a key center for educating designers on the Baltic Coast, the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk has long contributed to the growth of the design field, combining the execution of complex projects with reflection on the role of objects in users’ lives.

Operating within the Faculty, the Department of Product Design brings together designers whose individual work focuses on seeking the best solutions in response to the needs, challenges, and expectations of users. Their activities cover a broad spectrum—from everyday objects and jewelry to installations and architectural elements.

The exhibition Impact / Oddziaływanie 25 presents 25 design stories—revealing the creative processes, project backgrounds, and challenges accompanying the creation of products, objects, and installations. It strives to show that the final appearance of an object is the result of complex decisions, compromises, and adaptation to the needs of many stakeholders.
