About:

In the era of the internet, algorithms, social media, mobility, fast-paced living, and stimulus overload, the apparent ease of access to information or criteria for daily choices is accompanied by the risk of inadvertently being confined within specific filter bubbles. The exhibition provokes reflection on this contemporary phenomenon, which significantly influences our worldview and decision-making processes.

Climate change, norms of normalcy and health, pressure regarding appearance, social ethics, capital and redistribution, education and science, (over)production and (over)consumption of goods – these are topics that often fall prey to polarization and misinformation. Internal and external filters tend to suggest content aligned with our preferences, disregarding alternative options. By confining ourselves to a narrow circle of sources, we solidify existing beliefs, leading to a distortion of reality perception and the creation of a barrier between us and the full spectrum of facts and perspectives.

The installation, serving as a spatial interpretation of the filter bubble, encourages critical thinking and, through its participatory nature, promotes active seeking, sharing, and exposure to diverse sources of knowledge and narratives about the world. This could be key to breaking invisible barriers, opening up to a more comprehensive view of the environment, making more sustainable decisions, and collectively building a more balanced information future.

The interactive content is planned in such a way that visitors can use it independently throughout the exhibition.
