About:
The objects are born, they live, and they die. Each stage of a product's life has an impact on the natural environment. At the exhibition you will learn about environmental life cycle analysis (LCA) and its practical applications.
Among countless media messages, many sources of knowledge, sometimes contradictory information, it is easy to get lost both for creators, producers of utility items, and for anyone who simply wants to use them.
Dispersion – the festival's slogan could refer to the difficulty in taking design decisions, in the case of designers and manufacturers, product brands, as well as purchasing decisions, in the case of anyone who plans to consciously purchase any product.
A responsible approach to design, production or purchasing and using products can be facilitated by LCA – Life Cycle Assesment.
It is a tool that allows us to assess the impact of a product (or service) on the natural environment, considering their entire life cycle – from the extraction of raw materials to the moment when the product becomes waste, and then as waste it is managed or disposed of.
Visitors to the exhibition will learn what are the stages of product life cycle and will also be able to see specific examples of LCA calculations. It will allow them to understand the impact of products on the natural environment and at the same time our (creators, manufacturers and customers) responsibility. The exhibition will also present business case studies – consumer products made by responsible manufacturers and brands, who carry out LCA analyses.
