About:
The exhibition Clay from the Holy Cross Region is an attempt to answer the question of whether, in a world that has accelerated and splintered into hundreds of directions, we are still capable of finding mindfulness. Or perhaps does it hide in the simplest things – a clay bowl or everyday objects that have accompanied people for generations in their ordinary lives?
Clay from the Holy Cross Region is an exhibition about mindfulness, community, and local heritage. In a world overwhelmed by stimuli—fast-paced and scattered in many directions—craft invites us to pause and see reality through the lens of simplicity.
It presents both historical vessels and contemporary works by designers who reinterpret traditional pottery techniques in a modern context.
This is a story about a material that has accompanied people for centuries in their daily rituals – in the kitchen, at the table, in conversation, and in silence. Embedded in these clay forms is the memory of being together, and their simplicity becomes a response to the rush of modern life and the need to reconnect – with matter, with others, and with the place we live in.
Dominika Kulczyńska, Marta Dachowska, Natalia Siódmak, Bartosz Brylewski, Jakub Święcicki, and Huba Studio reveal the potential of clay as an ecological, sensory, and deeply human material. Drawing on the knowledge of past masters, these young designers create new meanings and forms – proving that the power of simple gestures can still be a source of connection and beauty.
In times of distraction, crafts invite us to slow down, connect with others, and rediscover a sense of purpose.
