Anna Śliwa


The curator of the Janusz Kaniewski. Polish Design Polish Designers exhibition, art historian and literary scholar, and certified curator. She holds a PhD in the humanities, and a post-graduate in Culture Management from the Warsaw School of Economics. She has headed the Art Department of Gdynia City Museum since 2014. She has curated and co-created numerous exhibitions of Pomeranian art, miniature textiles, design and architecture. One of the exhibitions she co-curated, Glass, Metal, Detail: Gdynia’s Architecture in Detail, won the 2016 Historical Event of the Year competition and received an honorary mention in the 2017 Sybilla competition. In 2018, Śliwa was nominated for the Pomeranian Storms award for the Oskar Zięta: Polish Projects Polish Designers exhibition in the “Discovery of the Year" and "Event of the Year" categories. The catalogue of this exhibition won the Honorary Award in the 58th Competition of the Polish Society of Book Publishers for the Most Beautiful Books of 2017, and made it to the finals of the 2019 Good Design competition. She has also written a book on visual perception in Miron Białoszewski’s art. She is a board member of the Gdańsk Branch of the Association of Art Historians.
