Young designers are currently facing a challenges related to social problems and progressive globalization. At the exhibition, we can see how students from the Faculty of Industrial Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow try to answer these issues.

The works presented at the exhibition are the voice of young adepts of the art of design, responsible for the future world around us, for culture in its material and spiritual dimension. The potential of the Faculty of Industrial Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow is shown here, where we teach values that are designed to sensitize future designers to perceive significant problems in a polarized world, and to solve them efficiently. We want to inspire reflection on what builds our everyday life, so that each of their design decisions is supported by empathy and so-called „common sense”.

Nowadays, ecological and social problems resulting from the progressing globalization and from the uncontrolled development of civilization and excessive consumption have forced us to pay more attention to the role of designers as co-creators of material culture. We began to reflect on the responsibility that rests on those who practice this profession, on the indirect but significant influence of design on the changing face of the world and consumer behaviour.

The time when the material side of human existence begins to prevail over all others related to spirit and mind, is a great time for designers to take on new challenges, and finding areas for humanitarian project undertakings and guiding the good of the whole and the environment in which we live. It can be an alternative to the activities of pursuing purely consumer goals.
