Inhuman artificial/synthetic intelligence versus human natural/biological intelligence. Or maybe it is better to think and design it in such a way that we have an enhanced intelligence, just as we have long been dealing with the multiplication of our muscular strength thanks to the ingenuity of scientists, designers and inventors.
The interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in recent years, especially thanks to the success of machine learning, has surged again. AI methods have been used in many areas of technology, science and daily human activity. There is no doubt that the development of AI also affects design-related areas. During the lecture, I will try to familiarize the design arts environment with the potential stemming from AI development, in particular with the area of the so-called Deep Learning. I will try to explain why there is so much buzz about it in the media, in public debate and even in politics. I will bring the audience closer to the state of the art in this area and give a number of examples of applying AI in areas relevant to designers. However, I will not stop at the impact of AI on design. I will try to show designers how their knowledge, skills, experience and sensitivity can help develop AI. The world in which we want to live in the future must be designed today. This statement takes on a new meaning in the era of rapid development of AI methods and technology. My speech will not lack references to social and ethical issues related to the rapid adaptation of SI solutions, in particular how to guide the development of AI in order to serve the development of society as a whole. I will talk about the idea of Human AI.
