The lecture will show the problems and challenges faced by designers and architects who create in historical and post-industrial buildings.

As part of the lecture, speakers will talk about their experience in designing in existing buildings, where the context was a strong starting point for new interventions. They will try to answer the questions, how the existing nature of current spaces can influence design decisions and how to solve the problems encountered while working on such projects. The issues raised will concern not only interior design in a cultural and historical context, but also difficulties and experiences in cooperation with subcontractors and investors. The lecture is dedicated to designers and architects, especially those operating in the field of revitalization.

Speaker:

  • Since 2010, they they run the architectural studio Projekt Praga. Their main design activity is revitalization and interventions in existing buildings and post-industrial areas.They also work in the field of hotel and gastronomic interiors. In the field of architecture their team wins prizes in architectural competitions. Bielsko-Biala Museum And Castle Atrium Roofing – first prize , Nowe Żerniki social housing in Wrocław – first prize, Guggenheim Helsinki Museum – honorable mention, The scientific and didactic building Ochota Campus (psychology, Cognitive Science, Psychophysiology) in Warsaw – first prize (with Piotr Bujnowski Achitekt).
