The answer to this question can be found at the “Four Elements. Swedish design today” exhibition. It is the first national exhibition within the Gdynia Design Days and its opening coincides with the Swedish presidency in the European Union.

This exhibition invokes the idea of the four elements, indispensably connected with our existence on the planet: earth, water, air and fire. The curator, Margarita Bergfeldt Matiz, a Swedish designer, uses them as a leitmotif to make us aware that both nature and design have great influence on our everyday lives. It is worth paying attention to the manufacturers of the items. Electrolux, Volvo, IKEA, Absolut, Atlas Copco, Ramlösa, Sony Ericsson. These companies have consistently invested in cooperation with designers. In this way they achieve their own market success, but also the good name of their country – Sweden is today among the leaders in world design.
The exhibition is held under the honorary auspices of the Swedish Embassy in Warsaw. The exhibition is partly organized by the Swedish Institute in Stockholm.
